🌍 Celebrating Multiculturalism on International Refugee Day 🌍
On June 20, International Refugee Day, I chose to forgo a day at the TNW conference to attend the Rooted Festival, a profoundly impactful event.
There, I engaged in discussions on intercultural mediation with insightful speakers like Rahel Boon-Dejene, Yordi Lassooy-Tekle, Frank Candel and others, expressed my inner voice and pain through transformative session with Hester Dam, and enjoyed the vibrant creativity of talented migrants in a beautiful natural setting.
One key suggestion I made was to draw from Canada’s rich experience of inclusion, a perspective I gained firsthand while living there. As a multicultural country, Canada offers valuable lessons on how to foster inclusivity. For instance, a significant criterion for receiving government grants in Canada is the assurance of including all ethnic groups, a practice that beautifully exemplifies the strength of diversity.
Multiculturalism is not just beneficial but essential for societal growth. Embracing it can lead to immense gains for any country! Agree?
